August Reflection

It’s a good sign of our future success that we should meet with crosses in the beginning.”
Nano Nagle (Letter X111)

August’s reflections based on the saying above:

“We all have crosses to bear throughout our lives, some heavier than others but Nano's strong love for God, gives me inspiration and confidence through the power of prayer that hope is probable”.

“Totally true. Hardships, disappointments, failures make us stronger to deal with life’s difficulties. When we reflect and look back on life Nano Nagle’s words are totally true then and today”.

“Nano’s faithfulness and trust never wavered in spite of the difficulties and setbacks she suffered in her bid to answer God’s call - she did this by prayer and a deep trust in the power and love of God. An experience of God’s complete care and compassion over some weeks showed me how true this can be in situations which seemed impossible – the picture of Christ’s arm raised in a caring gesture sums up this grace. If like Nano we can trust in this loving protection then we will continue to carry her lantern to all those to whom we minister”.
